market shrimp

I think that cooked shrimp is fine but you have to check if it's only cooked frozen shrimp. Look at the package. Almost all frozen shrimp has some kind of additive to keep it fresh. It will say it on the package. What I do is to buy raw shrimp and cook it myself and then freeze. The Doctor.

Everything I've read here suggests that the cooking of the shrimp causes them to lose most of their nutrients. I would stick with raw with the shell.

Steaming it should help retain nutrients so it doesn't end up in the water. Try doing it that, I mean if it works for veggies it should be the same concept.

I know that, at least in human (omnivorous) digestive systems cooked proteins are easier to digest, because the process of breaking them down has already begun. not sure if that is the case for fish digestive systems. maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

hiya, when I was in high school and college and for awile afterwards (about 10 yrs total) I worked at a butchers shop/fish market as a butcher. frozen shrimp are normally treated with sodium bisulfate, which is some type of stable tasteless salt. We had to have a sign up saying that cause some people are allergic to it. You can probably get most of it out of the raw shrimp by thoroughly rinsing them and maybe soaking them in clean water and changing the water a few times. I would guess so, I have never actually tried to get it out or know how you'd know if you had. On the other hand, I dont see how cooking them would get it out either. We had to have the sign up and I assume most of the people were cooking the shrimp to eat them so it probably doesnt get it out.

either did early humans. either do dogs or cats. I'm willing to bet that the fish meal that is the first listed ingredient on almost every fish food id cooked. cooked protein is more easily digested.

yes its safe to feed cooked shrimp but raw shrimp is much better it has alot more nutrition in it
