even my smallest 5" hystrix eats more than that..feed it a variety between worms and shrimp and pellets if you want.

maybe Im one of the few who doesn't feed "untill my rays don't eat anymore". There can be serious health complications from excess fat and the ray growing too quickly. We (well.. i've seen some crazy talk shows so I guess this doesn't include everyone) don't feed our children, or ourselves once or twice a day as much as we could possibly eat untill we are so full we go lay in bed (except maybe on some special occasions). Rays also don't have a super abundance of food available to them in their natural habitat, they scavenge all day picking up little stuff here and there, rarely do they find enough food to stuff themselves until they cannot eat anymore.

Anyways, I would say feed your ray enough that they aren't frantically searching the tank for more food and their butt should have a nice raised looked once done feeding, do this 2-3 times a day. You'll get the feel of when your ray is really hungry or content.

Try some squid/cuttle fish as well. This is a very nutritious food and about as cheap as market shrimp. Also Night Crawlers.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Honestly I don't want to try feeding my ray til his full because I had already many fish including RTC that died due to overfeeding. I researched that rays have small stomachs and fast metabolism, therefore I believe frequent small feedings is more appropriate than feeding them full.(Avoiding the risk of overfeeding). I'll feed them with a variety of worms and shrimps and also try introducing pellets. Thank you guys.
