I'm sure eventually some of the people who have huge aquariums built into houses have to move.
Here's what I'm wondering, do you think this would add to the value of the house or lower it?.
Would someone buy the house and setup the aquarium or would the first buyer probably tear it all down?.

It would depend on the size/quality of the home. A monster house with a monster built in tank would probably atract a monster wallet that wouldnt mind hiring someone else to take care of the tank. Most likely salt water as well.

Depends on if its MFK member moving in lol. I don't think it would raise the price of the house only reason I can see that it would lower it would be for insurance reasons if it busted or something. But my guess would be it would neither raise nor lower the price.

I'd say that it depends on how well the build for the monster aquarium was done. If it looks great and is of good quality, then odds are that it will improve the value. Likewise, if it looks terrible and is of poor quality, then odds are that it will no improve (or even decrease) the value. As far as insurance reasons go, it's probably treated no different than a pool. That's just my 2¢.

It would be good for a person who likes and keeps fish, the value of the home probably would not increase.

But you will get people who do not keep fishes. This wil probably lower the value of the home since they have to get people to tear it down and patch it up. If you just have the tank there without any fishes, it would be an eyesore to them.

It would solely depend on the person buying the house. But for the most part, I'd say it won't add any value. The next owner may not be into fish as much as you.

A large built-in aquarium is like having an in-ground pool. It will significantly lower the number of prospective buyers interested in the house. In today's housing crisis, I would not build one.
