Marsh Killifish

He said these killies were already bigger than his puffer. Confluentus maxes out at 2-3 inches. Whereas, mummichogs get 6 inches easily. I'm sticking with mummichog. Is there any way we can get a better pic?

You are correct, it is a zebrinus, the site I pull the pic from has the pictures reversed.
 
I think there may actually be several types of killies that I got. All are doing great and are the best eaters I have ever had. The puffer and the chromide have no chance at food until the killies are full. I feel bad for my datnoid now. :(

zebrinus from a pet shop for $1.50? If you can get more, I'll pay for the shipping right away! It's worth it just to see what these guys are.

I am getting more soon for my tank, and I am going to be collecting more next week in the wild. Just to clarify, it was 12 for 1.50! not just 1

If you're in Delaware you'd have to drive 1300 miles for the nearest Fundulus zebrinus.

What conditions are you finding these fish (or plan on finding these fish)?

I would guess F. diaphanus? Just a guess. Really can't be with the number of bars...

There are several species of killie in my tank. I am going to get more of the ones I have now at a LFS near me, but I am also going collecting in the bay to see what else I can get.
 
I still think you have just one species, Fundulus heteroclitusm mummichogs, also known as mud minnows in the salt water fishing world. These are popular bait fish so the price you got them for is not at all surprising. Males in breeding color look very different from females, so this would explain your assertion that you have more than one species.

I think I might just give up and call them all Fundulus until I can get a book to positively ID them.
