Masonry Sand ~ Safe ?

Do you need to clean PFS before you put it in the tank? I am thinking of using sand for my dat tank. It is a little more money than play sand, but if I don't need to spend the time cleaning it, I think it will be worth it.

Nothing wrong with that. I can only find one color too which makes sense why would you need different colors for Pool Filter Sand.

Yeah, I've used the play sand before, it's not bad but it's more of a gray than a white, I was looking for something a little whiter without using crushed coral, and tracking down white reef sand was a hassle too. So I just gave in to routine, It's not the biggest of deals anyways.

Yes. All sand needs to be cleaned thoroughly, it will take awhile ~ But as the saying goes, "the juice is worth the squeeze".

PFS supposedly requires less cleaning, but you still have to wash it for awhile.
