i think it was the motoro...once they get big they can take down larger pray items...i have seen them take out some unthinkable tankmates...i doubt it was the gar or aros...i wouldn't be suprised if it was the ornate or pbass

sit up and watch with the lights down low. its the only way.

nice stocklist by the way, could be the gar the aro or the pbass. imo.

I awoke yesterday to my rays tail being nipped and the back part of his disc. Removed my ornate bichir immediately thinking he was the problem. then shuffled my ray so i could get his underside visible against the tank and well not pretty. I should have taken a look sooner. bad infection. spreading to good tissue. put him in a isolation tank but by then he was on the way out as i could see him starting his death curl. by this morning he was dead. disappointing. he was my favorite. so I know it wasnt my ray doing the killing.

I think it was the PBass. Killed 2 Flowerhorns? That's pretty tough to do... My FH would kill any of my other fish, except maybe my puffers... I don't see the ornate killing something that doesn't fit in his mouth, doesn't make sense. Could he even catch the FHs? My second guess would be the Gar. I don't know a thing about them...

Any chance what killed your Ray ( disease?, parasite? ) killed everything else?

infection was the ending factor in my rays death.

Wow. First off, I'm sorry to hear about your ray. Secondly, you have one of the best tanks and stock lists I've seen on here.

I don't know enough about the fish you have to offer an opinion to who the culprit of the attacks has been. Did you put the Ornate back into the tank after you realized the ray succumbed to disease rather than attack? I'd try keeping him out if you've got a tank to house him for a bit. Wait and see if the attacks continue. Best of luck and again, very sweet tank, bodacious even. :)
