Hello; Yes I can in fact. The scenario is to get some form of what may be called "registration" or data base. Once that is in place with all the law abiding gun owners included, then the next step will be a push for some for of confiscation.
Hello; Yes to this. Everyone needs to keep in mind why the USA broke away from England back when. They knew from personal experience about tyrannical governments. A first step is to dis-arm the citizens. The2nd ammendment was not an after thought.

Of course I do not want any school children to be killed not even one. I have some ideas that are not unique that I support. Others have had the same notions. One is to not have "soft target " zones. There were two teachers who lost their lives shielding students. Had they been armed at least they might have been able to do more that place their body in the way.
At the last school in which I taught my room was at the wing of one building. There was a door next to my room. It was locked in a way to only be opened from the inside. Students coming from other buildings liked to get in that door to avoid a long walk out side to the main entrance. I would not allow students in and made them walk around. However other inside students often opened the door even for people they did not know. (Yes I asked.) I reported this in facuality meetings. Turns out I was considered the problem for bringing such things up. Not worth the trouble to aggravate student (and their parents) for a little security.
have secure entrances to the schools. A heavy outside door. Have a second even heavier
door say ten feet from the first. A communications system and remote lock so that only someone behind the second door can open the second door. I have seen these setups of varying quality in pawn shops.
I have other ideas as do many others. For some reason the logical steps of securing a school do not seem to happen.

Both are completely true. Im not saying ban guns. But a 19 yr old with mental issues shouldnt be able to purchase one.

Why cant you guys come up with reasons why a centralized data base with real resources to vet these people, a manditory training course were these people are trained and tested wouldnt work ?"

But they are done one the vast majority of the us population since most do not purchase homes amd cars in cash. Yet again im fairly sure someone from the irs may give ya a call if all that cash isnt accounted for.

Im fully aware why we broke away from england im glad you braught this up. Im pretty sure over taxation was a pretty big part of it. The term no taxation without representation comes to mind. Are we really going to go the constitutional right route ? Seriously our constitution has been manipulated and trampled on countless times. Take a look at your paycheck. Those realestate taxes are tons of fun as well. Our founding fathers would be rolling in their graves if they they knew that the very reasons why we broke away would eventually become the norm.

Completely agree. I say arm the staff like Rambo. Still doesnt change the fact that the 19 yr old who was known to be a problem should not have been allowed to purchase that weapon especially with out any training.

Of course i know you dont want to see any one get hurt, my impression of you is that your a genuinely good guy and for the most part we want the same thing. We just dont agree in the means to this end

The only issue i have with arming teachers is we dont know who would have the nuggets to actually use the weapon.
No offense but anyone can say what they "would" or "should" do and have a blast playing john wayne but actually having the nuggets to do what would be required is a completely different story.
