Massive 6 foot driftwood.

It's a lot of rock. What if I fill the 24 foot tank with rocks and drift wood then run a UV sterilizer on it for a couple weeks before putting fish in it.
 
Just get a high pressure nossle for your hose and hose everything off really good. Then run your UV for a while. It should be fine. If you have a pressure washer that you can mix cleaning products into then put some bleach in it and after the bleach wash rinse it about 3-4 times so you can't smell it anymore.

actually, if you have a UV, just wash them off as good as you can, put them in there and run it a week or so with the UV on, that should kill anything bad in the water.

i for one have never actually seen something go wrong when somebody put a piece of driftwood or rockwork in a tank that wasn't cleaned. feel free to point out an instance, but i just have never seen anything bad come of it.

probably right, but i would clean it just the same.
