last night i went and picked up feeders-rosie reds-and i didnt get a chance to look at them thoroughly until i got home because the store was closing and i was in a rush.when i got them home i realized they are all diseased beyond belief.ich, fin and tail rot-some with no tails or scales etc.
I ALWAYS quarantine so its not a huge issue to me but woke up this am and 14 out of the 20 were dead.doesnt really matter to me-its only $2.40 worth and i'll live. However,I can guarantee that alot of people don't use the quarantine method etc and will buy these and toss em in there tanks only to possibly kill all their fish if they are inexperienced keepers. So,I think I should call them up and let them know but I got the feeling they will care less........they will make ten times the money on fish disease meds etc.Right or wrong?Should I call or not?

well,i called and "the manager is busy"(great start to a coversation) so i explaind what i just did here and i honestly dont think they can care a bit.at least the girl on the phone didnt seem like she did.then again-maybe she did-she at least heard me out and all.but didnt give a response i felt was an immiedate reaction expected like,"oh sir,i'm sorry i'll make sure we don't sell them and look in to it right away."Or for that matter, tell me to bring back my reciept and get a credit.it's 2 bucks-who cares-keep it........but still shoulda been offered.life goes on I guess.my initial reaction was right-I feel like an idiot for calling and doubt I accomplished anything at all.

3 more should be dead within the hour.they cant even swim and are just doing that crappy wiggle that fish do at the top of a tank b4 they die.maybe i should just take em all and smash em.put em outta their misery.I know theyre only feeders but still.................

:(

Poor things. I have fatheads in my aquarium and I feel bad for the poor things. It is expected that feeders be diseased, hence quarentining them. I don't use feeders to feed though. Turn up the heat and add salt or something. Hopefully you can save 1 or 2.

:ROFL:true but theres only like 4 left now and 3 more are on their way out so i may save 1?what a joke.oh well........its expected to lose a few but not all of em.

Sorry for the loss...I feel for you....You're not the only who's having a bad day. I ordered some fish and had them UPS overnight on Thursday. Well, I didn't have to work til 6:30 pm on Friday and waited all day for the fish to arrive. No fish arrived so I went to work at 6:30 and found out later that UPS came by at 6:44 pm. Now, I have to wait till Monday to get my fish. $250 dollars down the drain 'cause I don't think the fish will survive. If they do it'll be a miracle.

Now THAT-really sucks!Im just talking about some feeders here.which, now theres 2 left outta 20.but $2.40 is nothing compared to "real"fish at $250.

Buy some proper community tank guppys, mollies or platie which won't be diseased and then breed them to get feeders..Thats an easy plan =]]
