Damn he went a lot harder then I thought.

Ya man, He brought wood. I knew i was in trouble. I added salt, And was in the process of doing about a 65-70% water change when it went down.

so do you think it was him hitting the lid that did the damage, or hitting the floor?
you said it was during a water change, so the water level was low? did he ever jump and hit the tops when the tank was filled?

I can relate, I felt this way when my 18" lemon fin barb jumped right through my glass top and lights and ended up on my floor overnight. found him in the morning.

you can't just go and replace fish like this.
