As far as I know they go to the rivers and collect the fish themselves, but I guess I will never know unless I go to peru myself and see the facilities.

You could always ask them... ;)

But I'm really just poking the fire... I'm a conservation ecologist and those are some big fish to be taking out of wild populations. I was just wondering if you or your suppliers had looked into whether those populations could handle it. It might be a nice thing to be able to tell your buyers...

They have strict rules down there on what , and how many of what can be shipped within a certain time period. They also can only take big fish up to a certian size. You will never find a Jumbo Black Rhom in the states over 20", because it's illigal to import them that big.

Two monster yellow Pirayas came in today 10"+ $800ea. Firm, pics are in the piranha forum.
