massivore making a mess.

I would recommend market shrimp....I feed massivore to my rays to and they make a mess but i'm just dealing with it cuz my bass and silver dollars eat the massivore to...

try cutting the shrimp into smaller pieces and only put a few pieces at a time.
I'm just gonna keep feeding em earthworms and eventually try market shrimp again. In the past they have just taken them and ripped em up into a million and one pieces making a nightmare cleanup.

I was actually thinking about adding a school of fish (red hooks, silver dollars, etc) to clean up the remnants my rays leave behind. Fed them good the last couple days now I'm gonna starve them and try market shrimp cut up really small.

i feed my rays massivore and tilapia no issues really but i run 3 fx5 and a 40g sump on my 210 housing them. my silver dollars always clean the mess up. i would add them and just try different foods and be persistent.

i use to think hikari stunk too. I have learned over the years, keep it in Tupperware containers, only feed as much as your rays will eat. if ANY is left over it will make your house smell like a feed store. Some rays especially smaller ones will crunch up the pieces and make a mess and you will smell it. My rays must eat it whole now cause they never leave even the smallest crumb

that's my problem my rays turn one pellet into 5 pellets and leave small pieces all over. I net out the leftovers 15-2- minutes after feeding but still smells and leaves a mess. I will definitely be getting some silver dollars or some red hook type fish as a clean up crew and also to add something to my tank I just have 2 rays and an arowana need something else to finish off my stock.

how much do you think large silver dollars go for? I know people are from different areas and prices vary but just a general idea of how much 3 large ones will run me.

just chop the shrimp to the width of your rays mouth size. that's should solve the problem from the chewing into bits and peices.. i don't agree on the massivore making a mess on your tank.. i feed that to my male ray also but when i turn the filter back on and wait an hour or so the water clears right up.. i'm running an eheim 2260 filter only for my 180 tank.. one 25" arowana, breeding pair of Marbles 15-17" , 2 datnoids 6-7", and 2 blood red parrots 4-5"..
