massivore making a mess.

just chop the shrimp to the width of your rays mouth size. that's should solve the problem from the chewing into bits and peices.. i don't agree on the massivore making a mess on your tank.. i feed that to my male ray also but when i turn the filter back on and wait an hour or so the water clears right up.. i'm running an eheim 2260 filter only for my 180 tank.. one 25" arowana, breeding pair of Marbles 15-17" , 2 datnoids 6-7", and 2 blood red parrots 4-5"..

wow I have a Fluval FX5 and Fluval 405 full of ceramic rings and can't seem to keep the water clear for more than two days. As far as the shrimp goes I cut it up really small they just chew it up and spit it out because they don't want it once they start to eat it I'm sure it won't be a problem.

starve the rays up and see if they will spit it back out..well my eheim 2260 i have 1-2 liters ceramic rings to the 1st layer, 2nd is a very course pad, 3rd 2 X 4" x 12" one with crush coral and ther other bag are ammonia chips, then a fine pond filter pad , 4th is a bag of 3-4 Liters eheim substrat pro, and last is another fine pond filter pad.. eventually if i upgrade to my 300 gal i would go into wet dry to make things simplier... i have records of filter cleaning about 20 - 30day periods.. i also run a eheim surface skimmer to extract all the surface water of the aro's superworm hard body shells that he can't digest...so that's what i have for my 180...

thanks for the information dude much appreciated!

I need a surface skimmer the top of my tank is so nasty right now since I fed my rays a few hours ago. The output of the FX5 is so much stronger than the 405 so on the 405 output side of the tank it's just a bunch of crap sitting on the surface of my tank water.

you need clean up fish tinfoils are the best as they also eat ray crap

if your rays are chewing the pellets use hikari sinking carnivore ,sinking cichlid gold or hikaris sturgeon

this is the mix of pellets i mixed up it lasts about 1.5 months for 5 rays and some large tigers(dats) and 6 large tinfoils and a 2ft tig

never had a problem with this mix and sturgeon has the same as mass in it but smaller and cheaper
