I don't notice an unpleasant smell. Smells kind of earthy to me. Like damp garden soil? Fish sure love it!
I keep mine refrigerated, and pre-soak. Bad bad times in the fish room the next day if I forget about the one or two extras in the bottom of the glass, though.
My fish smash it before it hits the bottom there's usually no remains lol

Some people get an odor after feeding, I never do. It's a mystery.

nasty stuff.. if it wasn't the only pellet my rtc hybrid would eat I wouldn't have it. opening the bag makes me wanna gag, and not much makes me gag.
Is it possible that something in your tap water is reacting with something in the massivore. There are surely chemicals in both that are undisclosed. Or not. I have no idea why your water smells after massivore, but it's def not the first time I've heard that, people say it makes their tanks stink all the time I guess I'm just lucky.
