Master Test KIt OR STRIPS?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the liquid tests last a long time though. My ph test kit does over 200 tests and my ammonia does like 75.

I have strips laying around that I use still to use them up. I will dip it in and if I see my nitrAtes read like 40 I will use liquid and usually see its only 20. Just to give me an idea if I should test.

Ammonia ones for me are always off badly. I use liquid only.

Master Kit test it is then. Thanks guys! NOw I just need to find some money :D

I give a +1 to the master kit as well. Just make sure you bang the nitrates bottles on a table top in case it has settled so you get an accurate reading.

You have the best evidence right there. In the long run, the Master Test Kit will be more economical; not only in cost, but also because of the accurate results (not wasting time or money making adjustments to bad readings).

Test strips are not accurate mater test kit

His name is Richard, not 'mater test kit'. Although, I am sure he wouldn't mind if you just called him master. :D

Put off buying the big tank for a while. You will really need the test kit during the setup/cycling.

And buy some freaking check valves for crying out loud. You were in such a rush to get those overflows, but now you are dragging your feet doing anything with them (asking the same questions over and over does not qualify as progress.)

haha yeh, Ive never been able to get to anywhere especially home depot which is on the other side of the island. Ill try to go one of these weekends, cant seem get down there.
