He is very active and loves to chase the other fish in the tank with him (though sometimes they end up chasing him). His energy comes in spurts and he is active for an hour or two then sits for an hour or two. When I put his minnows in there, he becomes very still and he tries to slowly heard them into a corner so that he can eat them. he will go through 200 minnows in a day and I feed him twice a week.

Very nice turtle! Woah, 200 minnows each time you feed him!!!?

i get them in bulk from a fish farm not far off. $.75 a dozen is not bad actually. and when you think about how much an iguana consumes and how much fruits are, i think it is about the same....

Look into Tilapia........I buy 1lb Tilapia for a $1 each......$2 a Mata per week when I have them.........

Nice! I used to work a lfs where we had a couple of Mata Matas on display. They weren't for sale and I remember that they almost NEVER moved, LOL.
