I have tried tilapia before but he does not eat anything pre-killed and the live tilapia are a bit more pricey pound for pound than minnows. I have also given him channel cats, flag fish, minnows, American eel (once or twice), crayfish, mud minnows, and a myriad of other fish and such. the minnows are just his staple.EricIvins;3534225; said:Look into Tilapia........I buy 1lb Tilapia for a $1 each......$2 a Mata per week when I have them.........
nice. I think they are amazing to look at but in an active tank, they seem to be more active. try putting some large (aggressive) active fish in the tank with them and see if it will make a difference. Also, raise the water level so that they have to stretch a little more to reach the top.benzjamin13;3534242; said:Nice! I used to work a lfs where we had a couple of Mata Matas on display. They weren't for sale and I remember that they almost NEVER moved, LOL.
