Mating?

Oh ok the Texas probably was eating the eggs. Did you notice the Jag's chasing the Texas away at anytime?
Yes once, I’ve removed the Texas and I’ve put him in the other tank with oscars I hope he survives the night cause the tank I’ve put him in is completely established by a pair of oscars which are bigger than him. But that’s not the point. Should the jags and their eggs be fine with the GT and EBJD. I also have a SH in the tank but that guy is peaceful. Doesn’t even eat live fish and is in hiding most of the time. Will be putting a divider in the tank first thing tomorrow morning.

The Jaguar Cichlid pair will eventually kill the Green Terror and the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey.

Spoke to a friend, giving all my fish except for the jags to them. What are the chances of them mating again?

Probably 95% chance if the bond doesn't get broken between them. If the female is not ready to spawn again and the male is things will get hairy. I suggest making a divider out of plastic light diffuser aka egg crate and make a opening only so the female can pass through. Have divider on standby.

The bigger jag is definitely a female and the smaller one looks like it might be a female as well. Possibly the Texas was in on the breeding too. It was a disrupted breeding with eggs everywhere, so I wouldn't count on getting any babies from this spawn, though it is possible. Did the smaller one have a large breeding tube showing like the bigger one? If so, it is a female, because the males' breeding tubes are much smaller and pointier.

The smaller jag is definitely a male, his tube is smaller and pointer. And also they both have been together since 3-4 days and have been guarding a spot. The male has been harassing the female though. Here’s a picture of the smaller jag to confirmA184E8C4-65F7-4302-860C-7A684EF99A9C.jpeg

Can you’ll confirm if this is a male? Giving the other fish away just wanted to be sure that I’m not keeping two females together
