Anybody ever dealt with the problem of sexually mature males trying to breed and bite immature females?

My male is on the verge of becoming a "man" and Im worried that he might date rape my pre-pubescent females!

Thoughts? Suggestions? Precautions?

Nope, never seen a pedophile ray.

Wait, so have you seen the mix together?

Do mature male rays leave immature females alone, knowing that they cant reproduce?

Well, my male motoro shows no intrest in my premature marble female.

i wouldnt worry yet... but have a divider ready just incase

My little male "Zero" is mature. He's housed with 2 females under 8 inches. No problems here yet. Not even a nip. But they do have a decent amount of space considering size. Also have 2 immature males in the mix.

Anythings worth a try once right?

I observed that the males start biting before the females are complete mature. In this case the females are not ready and very stressed even some worse injuries are possible. I separated the female if this happened and put them together 2-3 months later. Then they mate without a problem.
Here is a pic of a scobina female. All the injuries happened in one night. Before this night they were together for a long time and the male showed no interest in the female.

Wow... that is brutal. I'm glad that they eventually got along. The drive to reproduce is a crazy thing.
