Hi guys just wondering if my male mature stingray is just on hunger strike or something is going wrong with him its neatly a month now not eating well he or not at all water parameters are all in good range. No new in the tank light is now turned off most of the time. Any sign tbat i must look into it if there is a health problem? He always just stayed on one spot.
Many thanks in advance for advice.
Roderick

A month is a really long time for a stingray not to eat. New test kits for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? Tankmates? tank size?

Thanks..all water parametes are on tip top shape tanks mate just an aro and tiger. Tank size 5x2.5x2.5

Tank size a little small for a mature ray, but let's not go there.
What kind of ray?
Assuming your water change schedule is bang on and your water is good look for laboured breathing and the occasional cough at the gills.

Hi Jim thanks...thats what iam going to look at but this morning breathing is not heavy it looks really slow for me both gills. I havent saw him coughing but will keep an eye on it.
Just incase its coughing what shall i do?

Coughing is a good sign of gill flukes

A month is a long time. Not unprecedented, but definitely concerning. Keep trying different foods and stay up on maintenance if there are no obvious signs of problems. I will salt and prazi when in doubt.

I had a female not eating for a really long time and she finally got back to eating on bloodworms of all things. And she was an adult. So keep trying.
