MAX Asian Aro size in captivity

there was once a post about someone's visit to a big shop in China where at the entrance they had a kinda preserved dead asian arowana which was around the size we're talking. I'll try and find that post. It was about a very big store in 1000s of sq feet of space over several floors. Anyone remember dat ?

well reds get bigger than gold

reds are ment to max out at 36inch

BUT even the red aros we see in pics in breeding ponds dont look any bigger than 30inch

i think in a tank 28inch would be a good size

I have never seen one this big, your tank has to be massive, in the thousands of gallons.
but i think IT MIGHT be possible, with exccesive feeding, daily water changes in a big enough tank.

but its hard to imagine 38 inches.
thats huge!

i guess it depends on what size tank it is in... Biggest I see was around 28-30"

well if tank size does have somthing to do with it then why are the aros be see in breeding ponds and being held by breeders 38inch

i would say a breeding pond is close to the wild

a zoo near us has 2 greens about 3 foot ill get pics up in a minute

if you can make out the denosini barbs below it they are 6"

they look like 3ft,to me.
i think its possible the arowana can reach 38 in an aquarium.
