Is there any species of peacock bass that i could get away with having in a 125g? i wanted to get a small almost school of about 3-4. so is there anyway i could do that or is that too small?

well it didnt let me post this in the first one but if it would make a huge difference to bump up to a 180g that could be possible but its either the 125g (cheaper) or 180g, which would talk longer to save up for.

get the 180...forget the 125.

alright what is the smallest species of pbass, or what sp. could i fit 3-4 in, and also any tank mates with them in the 180g tank?

Youll have a better chance of a couple in the 180, may not be for life but for a good while.. the smallest is Cichla Intermedia which max out at around 55cms, very rare to find though.

alright, what is the smallest of the common ones, like mono, tem, ocelli, lol and correct me if im wrong on the names but thats what i have heard of, i bet there is many other species, please give me all the info you have on these guys.

monoculus and ocellaris are probably the most common to get, well it is where i am, im not sure where you are, theres also Orinos (big favourite amongst MFK members), Tems, id probably go against them as they grow the biggest.
Mono and Ocels grow to around the same size id start of with these guys..

biggest tank you can afford.
orinos, occell, monos basically get around 2 feet.
orinos slightly larger if im not mistaken.
temensis get the biggest and grow the fastest.

:iagree:
Stay away from tems they have the potential to reach around 3'

alright so you guys are recommending the monos or ocellis? Out of those two i think i like monos. But which one has more spots than lines, or does that matter on the certain fish?
