how do you sex the jd's??

mine is in with a 4" geophagus, 9" ornate bichir, 9" pleco, and a 3" red rainbow. the only one he has issues with is the geo. he was trying to pick on the pleco but that just wasn't happening.

Mine is 8 in after 1 year, but ive seen much larger and beefier jds than mine.

male JD has red edges along his dorsal fin?? (um...the one on the top of the fish, sorry not sure of propper names), the fins are also more pointed and a little bit longer. my JD hates everything and has to live by himself.

actually both male and female have the red edges along the top fin

how do you sex the jd's??

blue "beard" extended from mouth to gills plate = female
little to no blue speckle on gill plate = male, but it depends on what your JD size is though.
