max size of the smaller wolffish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
don't give them beef it polutes the water they both stay under 12''
give them chunks of fish and things worms work so does shrimp they will eat feeders but they don't need to

gold wolves can get to 18 inches....
usually a bit less though.
reds get to about 10 inches rarely.
usually 8 or so.
they are both active.
gold wolves are more active in a sense that they are always active.
reds vary alot in attitude.
although most i have come accross are active.

yeah golds definitely grow larger than 12". from what i've read usually 14-16" in aquaria.

i need to come across some of the reds you've come across, channa. the ones i have/have seen are not very active. pretty much another rock for my bichirs to lounge on.

what about tank mates, i was wondering how well the hifins will get along with A) bottom dwellers bichir, eel, or rope fish? or B) a shoal of exo's???

Well heres my first post...LOL...but anyway, DreanandScheme I have never owned any of the smaller wolves but have read up here they usually dont tolerate their own kind. Of course each fish is different and there will be exceptions, but im guessing a birchir of equal size would be fine, as far as the exos a few of them might end up as LUNCH...but I hope this helps, im sure someone more knowledgeable should be able to help...
