max size of the smaller wolffish?

exos are risky they are fast and tuff but if they ganged up on the wolf that could be trouble for it or at night the wolf could take out a few exos hard to say if that would work

my gold wolves would eat a shoal of exos probably immediately. i'd be amazed if they lasted the night. now my rainbow wolf...he might get picked on a bit by the exos but i seriously doubt they could kill him. he'd eat them when he got hungry. wolffish are damn tough. suffice to say exos and wolves probably wouldn't be a good mix. bichirs would be fine as i keep many bichirs with my wolves. i'm only talking about gold and rainbow wolves (the smaller wolves). a common wolf probably wouldn't tolerate any tankmates.

i wouldn't risk bichirs with wolf fish unless i knew it was a calm wolf it could work just fine but it would be up to the wolf

hay IRONMUNKI do you own both gold and rainbow wolf fish which would you say is more active all the ones i see are pretty lazy more active then common but thats only when people walk by the tank

Def. true killerfish, but even a docile wolf could turn the situation bad real quick....thats why I love wolf fish, I mean their not the most active but their speed and accuracy makes up for it. When they strike its OVER for whatever they go after, and they make quick work of it with their wicked teeth and strong jaws...

exodons most likely wont work.
i wouldnt worry about bichirs with wolves though.
ive kept them together and no problems unless one is much bigger than the other.
meaning one would eat the other.
my first ery ery was a lazy guy was was extremely aggro.
he owned his owned cave.
i got bit by him many times and during maintanence he would flare at me if i got near.
he even kept my red SHs at bay.
when i got another 2,they were active but were wimps.
ended up getting eaten by my red SHs.
most ive seen in lfs are quite active.

Gold are waaaaay more active. When I say they never stop swimming I mean never. I can come down stairs in the middle of the night and they are hovering near the top. Usually when the lights are on the three of them are either swimming in a circle near the top, hunting food if feeders are in the tank, or chasing each other. Mine are in with about 5 bichirs and they get along with them fine. Only issue I have is the wolves eat EVERYTHING I put in the tank. The out compete the bichirs for live/dead food since they are much faster and can see better and then the greedy bastids will eat the bichir's pellets as well. Greedy mofos.

cool i was thinking of setting up a 40 gallon breeder and was going to get a rainbow but now i'm thinking i'll get a gold if i can find one how fast are yours growing i don't think one will out grow a 40 breeder any time soon if i get a small one i've never kept golds before and only seen them a few times once back when i was first getting into fish when my uncle had one i think it was a gold but i'm not sure i'll have to ask him about that

here is a vid of the golds and bichirs eating pellets. i got mine fairly large, 2 were over 6", so i can't really say how fast they grow from a small size. my little one has grown about an inch or so in a little under a month though.
