MAX water temp for arowana??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
quick update as i had to rush to work, all lights and heating off, large fan has been running all night. I have increased the number of air stones in the water, i did do a 20% water change .. essentially to clean up any poop in the water. Temp still the same at around 40.4. Aro seems to be fine, swimming around as per normal ... cant help but worry though..

lfs still sell them... if you know the owner well enough for their trust.

it isnt bright to break that trust by stating the exact vendors business

thats very true.. would never give them up...

hmmm, perhaps you should have an aircon in your fish room to limit the temp to 30ish or something. In any case, imo, keep the water well aerated and you should be fine.

Careful with the lid off though

no1 is home atm... so its lid on for the time being until i can get home. Im contemplating fulling up the bathtub with water...

Seriously, dude

Don't mess around with the tank unless you see signs of distress from fish e.g. gasping, lethagic etc etc

If you are that worried, you can try cooling it down with a fan... errr attach a damp cloth to the side somehow then direct a fan at it. Evaporation should help cool down your tank. Of course if the weather is humid then it will not be so effective

Air stones and frozen coke, Mt. Dew, Dr. Pepper, Mr. Pibbs, RC Cola, Etc..... bottles would do the trick. Just keep the water moving.

i wouldnt just add ice and let it heat up then add ice again. the temp fluctuation might be more stressful than one constant higher temperature.
but good luck!
