Look under other monster forum and check out the pictures and descriptions of the different sub species.. its under Forums and its called other monsters...Wow i have to type faster eh? ya look at the datnoid I'D chart..Like you did...
 
I want to buy a dat for FW tank. What is your guys recommendations for the species. I know everyone has their own personal preference so I was wondering what you guys thought. Thanks a bunch
 
which ever you can get :D depending on your area they may be hard to come upon. i;ve bought most that ive seen that were in good shape and a good price

Is $21 a good price for a "tiger dat"? Don't know what species they are, but the only lfs around here(within an hour) that gets dats regularly sell them for that price. I have a pic i will update soon though I think it's a thinbar.

it will be either thin bar or indo at that price. Its not a bad price for either. But that all depends on ur location.

You could really do any species of dat. I have all my dats in freshwater and have not had a single problem. I do add some salt, but it is nowhere near brackish conditions.

You'll probably find that Indos are going to be the cheapest, but they are still beautiful fish so that may be your best bet...then step up to $300 ST at 2". :D

Yeah, that's a fair price indeed. That seems about average for Indos.

How big are these guys?
