May be getting a new tank :D

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i take it you're getting one of those tank in a box, which comes for everything.

I personally think i get more bang for my buck if i buy everything seperately and not part of a package.

Well decided on a tank a 50gal hex and everything with it for £400

If we had the space sure! and if i was allowed a second hand 1.

I usally dont care to much for hex tanks because they dont have as much surface area, I guess it depends on what type of fish you like ? Dont forget to post pics when it's up and running! good luck!

I will :grinyes: And surface area isnt really an issue cause we are getting quite a powerful areation system :woot:

I wouldn't get a hex either unless it's a really big hex and it's going to be viewed on all six sides. You will be quite limited to what fish you can have in a hex because of the smaller surface area. Having a large surface area is not only good for oxygen transfer but it's also the swimming area of your fishes. Most fish as far as I know likes to swim more horizontally than vertically so having a longer and wider tank is more benificial than having a taller tank like a hex. Basically you're fish would be swimming in circles in a hex and it won't have enough room to swim in either directions to get away from a territorial tankmate. And if you're maximixing space in your house a hex is definetly not the way to go unless you have a hexagonal indentation on your wall.

thats what i said but my mother doesnt like ANY other tank she says they look cheap :( it ws either that or nothing.
