How much rock do you have in there Ash. I would think you could hold off on a PS for a 30 provided you do frquent water changes. Are you living in Tampa now? If so you should come by the shop. Last time you came by, you drove from Orlando I believe.

I dont have any in there, I havent started the tank up yet. I am waiting to get everything I need before I even start it. Really right now the only big thing I have left to get is the PS. I am new to salt but I read up on things and I thought the PS is one of the important parts for a salt tank? I will be doing a nano-reef with soft corals. Yeah I was coming from Orlando before. I am in Tampa now, Chris and I did plan to stop by eventually just been a lot going on.

CPR Bakpak is a good skimmer. What are you looking at for a fish load?

^I think it will be determined after I have the tank set-up and cycled.

ok I lied I didnt get a coralife skimmer... I decided not to go the hob route. I am taking a sump off a different tank and I have an in sump eshopps protien skimmer.

PS=protien skimmer? Thats what I figured...

I already have the eshopps skimmer, I looked at a bunch but this one seemed most fitting for my sump to me and it wasn't terribly expensive. I figured it has to be better then redsea and the seaclone skimmer.

eshopps ain't too bad but you may get irritated with it over time when you do and you sale it go ASM lol

I like the tunze in sump skimmers....but at the same time it's the only skimmer I've owned so I really have nothing to compare it to.
