Have you tested your water?
No
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes

I will be posting a pic soon. A bit of background

My female acara Jazz has been struggling for some time with what appeared to be swim bladder. She recovered from Popeye in the last two months. Awhile back she flopped into the garbage disposal which appeared to make her swim bladder? Gas? flare up more. She goes through bouts of head standing for days then stops briefly. About two weeks ago she started refusing food after eating on a daily basis.

Now she's suddenly developed a black circle of raised flesh on her body. There's a red ring showing a bit on her mouth. The base of her tail is showing very early signs of fungus with a loosening scale. Her sides are normal but her belly is getting slightly hollow. I've done everything I can think of.

Picture to be posted after this post.

The black spot. She's always had some various pigmentation up top but this is raised and recent. Does this look like black spot?

Scales starting to loosen here. She is constantly struggling to right herself but recently had done so. It could be infection, stress, behavioral or all 3 at this point. I have no answers.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news and hope I’m wrong but that black splotch really looks like cancer (melanophoromas).

Others should chime in but if it were me, I’d euthanize it with clove oil. Sorry

I considered that possibility because it looks like a tumor. I will try something radical and post results. If that doesn't work I'll make that decision.
