What kind is this fish? I brought him as "dragon knife" but looks just like the video for "bulldog knife" on youtube.

I've got no idea what kind it is but it looks awesome. I wish more people were into knife fish, they are really fascinating creatures.
Didn't know that so many people would be interested in my knife. Problem is the fish hasn't fed yet. he seems perfectly healthy but he won't eat anything I offer, flake, pellets, bloodworms etc he just stays in his piece of wood
also, seems to be developeing some ich, what is the method? use half the medication?

Try raising the temp to 82, knifefish don't like it too warm or at least mine doesn't. Also adding an airstone will help. and try salt at half strength first - normal dose is 1tbsp per 5 gal of water being treated I belive.

And check your nitrates my knives have always been sentivite to excessive nitrates or less then perfect water perameters. I would try live blackworms to get it eating, and feed them after lights out for the day.
and don't use ANY copper based medication. increased temps and heavy water changes if its Ick will clear it up quick. I would use salt as a last resort. Knives are so delicate. ( why imo not many people keep or even attempt to keep the more exotic species when they pop up)

Yeah I only have Marine salt handy, so I will just make sure I keep the water warm and do a water change sometime this weekend. it doesn't seem to be all over him, its just a bit here or there.
