The longer you wait to do your water change the worse the situation will get. If you don't have the time to be doing multiple large water changes a week. Do a 25% change everyday. That will help cut down the population of any free swimming parasites. Also cleaning the gravel will help with that.

exactly. the more you do the faster it'll clear up.

Wow. That thing looks like it came from deep inside a cave somewhere! Awesome! I'm kind of surprised nobody's been able to answer the original question, though. I'd be curious to know what kind of knife this is as well.

Yeah I know not many people seem to know. I found a video on youtube of a "bulldog knife" that looks identical to mine. Right now the little guy has cured his ich and today seems to be very active foraging for food instead of staying in his cave.

The main issue is his mouth is so tiny, I put shrimp pellets in there cause they dissolve into a little pile of soft pieces that pretty much any bottom dwelling fish can eat. i also try bloodworms but I have yet to actually see him feeding. I put some hikari gold pellets in there earlier that were waterlogged and sank to the bottom. He seems to have a belly on him right now so he is deffinately eating something.

I believe its a Sternarchogiton nattereri. Very awesome knife fish !

Its definitely not a Sternarchella terminalis "Bulldog Knifefish" I know that. & it isn't a Dragon Knife (Parapteronotus hasemani) either (I don't know how someone could mistake a dragon knife for your knife...)

Heres a Bulldog Knifefish to compare, it doesn't look like yours at all in my opinion,
