I was just upset because the LFS I go to has a breeding pair of festae's, so I just kind of assumed hte young juvi i bought was a festae, but it was a mayan. With them having both in the store you would think they would know better

thats why you don't buy fish by common names.

and the reason I like my uropthalmus better than festae is because you could end up with a male. Male festaes are ugly IMO. Females are nice and they look a lot better in their breeding dress but if you end up with a male..

I would take a full grown male Festae over a female any day. Only fish that seems to be made of pure 24k golds.

Why go for Africans when you can have the best colors, size, and personalities in one fish?

thats a beautiful fish, i have nanos an love them, my group of nanos are very responsive but festaes are a true show fish

Nanos are beautiful, first time I saw breeding pair, thought they were HRP at first.

its all a matter of opinion, i love both sexes of festae
