Mayans :(

I have been asking my lfs here in Taunton, Somerset, England for years now if they could get some Festae in, today i got a phone call telling me they have 3 in stock, and i could have all 3 for £20, so i get in my car and get my ass as quickly as possible to the shop, only to see they are fricken Mayans :( all i can say is thanks to MFK for educating me on the differences, and having never seen either fish before in real life, i still knew exactly what they were when i got there.

They had a colourful label saying 'Amphilophus Festae' with a picture of an adult male Festae, when the guy showed me to them, i said straight away.... "there mayans" and he said "i know, but most people dont know that" then he walked off.

Waisted 8 mile journey, and Festaes are still as elusive as ever here in South West England :(
 
Yep the lad was rude as ****, he was no older than 21-22, covered in spots and had an awful attitude.....just kinda rubs it in that i waisted my time and effort getting there, just to have a dick like that serve me.
 
I know you wanted Festaes....
But do not despize Mayans. They are awesome fish by their own right.
 
Yeh nothing wrong with Mayans, they are just not what i wanted, its kinda like waiting 3 years to buy a 'Rotkeil Severum' only for it to turn out to be a efaciatus £1.99 mutt Green.

I said to the man at the till that the lad had a attitude problem, he said that the lad was the fish house manager, and everyone says that.
