I have been asking my lfs here in Taunton, Somerset, England for years now if they could get some Festae in, today i got a phone call telling me they have 3 in stock, and i could have all 3 for £20, so i get in my car and get my ass as quickly as possible to the shop, only to see they are fricken Mayans
all i can say is thanks to MFK for educating me on the differences, and having never seen either fish before in real life, i still knew exactly what they were when i got there.
They had a colourful label saying 'Amphilophus Festae' with a picture of an adult male Festae, when the guy showed me to them, i said straight away.... "there mayans" and he said "i know, but most people dont know that" then he walked off.
Waisted 8 mile journey, and Festaes are still as elusive as ever here in South West England
