I don't know. I seem to recall someone that had a 12 inch oscar in a 10 gallon. Terrible!!! Poor fish. You should get him just to save the fish.
I just got a 29 gallon tall off craigslist with 2- 8 inch oscars, 1- 5 inch Jack Dempsy, and 1- 10 inch pleco. The water was actually thick. The guy was so proud of it. He said "yeah I only have to change the water every two weeks because I've got an undergravel filter". I was sick. These guys are bouncing back in my 90. But even then I am selling the pleco because it's still quite the bioload. Good deal tho- $ 50.00

guess next time someone gets shot we can say "the gun was proboably bought at walmart."

could just have had the large tank broken/leak and placed that pacu in the small tank and was just fed up with fish in general as the pacu prob was the last fish
just looking at it in a different perspective as I admit I wouldn't do that myself unless it was just to take pixs for few minutes.
