Mayorga vs. Hoya

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No the last thign I want to see is oscar against hopkins again, it would be a boring tactical fight. Hops is done, the hops of old would have smashed taylor all over the place. Although I'm rooting for hops, tarver probably outpoints him.

Also d20, one thing is for sure - there is 0% chance of Oscar and Hopkins fighting again. Hopkins is now Oscar's partner in golden boy promotions. They are friends/business partners, they'll definitely not fight again.

dimfer - no I'm afraid not, he dispatched mayo quicker than tito did ;)

Sure wes, PM me. How can I transfer it to you?

The copy I have is good quality video and audio, has ringwalks and post fight interviews etc.

Thanks Joe.. i downloaded it already. Mayorga didnt stand a chance. The handspeed is just too much . ;)

he outclassed him more than tito did, mayo was in WAY over his head.

He didn't give up, but obviously became discouraged after that sneaky counter left hook. That's the only 1 punch knockdown mayo has suffered in his career btw.

He tried though, he kept coming, trying to land some fast, heavy bombs, but oscar is just too crafty. Oscar has underrated defense, he doesn't make a HUGE effort to get out the way of punches, he makes a subtle effort. Moves his head just slightly so it glances off, or parries the blow and counters.

Even when mayo realized headshots weren't working and was trying to attack head and body oscar would simply stick his arms out to deflect head shots and move his abdomen back at the same time so the bodyshots missed.

Oscar was in the wheelhouse the whole time too, always ready to land heavy shots.

Great performance by Oscar, at 33 and having fought once in about 2 years.

Having seen what he's got left, and that his ideal weight is really 154, and factoring in that floyd's only advantage - SPEED - is surely going to take another hit at 154 - oscar takes him.

If the fight gets made as expected, I pick oscar in 9. I wonder if he'll have to get a new trainer though, as mayweather sr claims he doesn't want a part in it.

all the hallmarks of a great fighter and although ODLH has a great chin being able to subtely take the sting out of big shots makes a great fighter.
Mayo although a bit of a slugger does have skills too and showed them sporadically but he was outclassed

excellent observation joe. Didnt know that was the first 1 hit punch that put Mayorga down.
I dont know if ODLH can take down Mayweather ... but if he can , then im all for it.

If it happened in a few months and they both seemed focused and serious, who would be your pick wes? If you had to bet money on it? :)

How about you DiXoN?

Alll things constant, i WANT ODLH to win and i think he has the goods to deliver. But if i have to bet money on it, safest bet would be on Mayweather. ODLH is not in his prime anymore and has gone down before while Mayweather hasnt.
