you can cover for him as much as you want. he not good for boxing because he is no role model for kids to look up to. if i had a kid that wanted to box i sure wouldnt show him the foul languaged punk. somebody like oscar is great for boxing.

It's like Charles Barkley once said: "I'm not a role model." He went on to say that parents need to be role models for their kids. Since when is an athlete a role model for my kids? Never. That's my responsibility.

And, boxing is an entertainment. They have to sell tickets. Mayweather sells tickets. The institution of boxing has used trash talk to promote it's events since the beginning of the sport. John L. Sullivan, Jim Corbett, Jack Johnson and many others talked trash. You need to remember that boxing is a sport that derives from poverty and the streets. That's how they do it. As they say, "Don't hate the player. Hate the game." That's the way the game is played.

^^I'm in agreement, 100%. Manny and Floyd could've fought if Manny had agreed to a simple drug test. It appears that Manny might possibly be using performance enhancing drugs. Freddie Roach, Manny's trainer, claims that Manny has a needle phobia. Manny has to take a blood test whenever he fights in a place where he has to file for a boxing license, so he's taken blood test before. It all adds up to Manny possibly doping. Why else would he allow a so-called fear of needles to get in between himself and the largest payday of his life? Hmmmm . . .

refusing to let an egotistic, trash talking A hole tell you what test you should take is in no way shape or form an indication that pac may be on any illegal drug. if I'm the p4p king, why would I let any boxer tell me what test I need to take to fight them? to say he may be possibly on something illegal is ignorant. since when did floyd mayweather jr become an ambassador to the sport trying to "clean up" boxing? since he had to fight a guy that ko'd hatton in 2 rds which took 10rds for floyd to do? since he had to fight a guy that stopped oscar in his stool? since taking out a guy like cotto who's a true welterweight powerhouse who is a guy that some say floyd ducked? if you really wanna look at the evidence, it would seem floyd is just scared of fighting pac. since when did floyd start thinking he was the state athletic commision where he can start telling fighters which kind of drug test they need to take??? pac is willing to take ANY drug test, as long as the state athletic commision requires it. floyd never ever mentioned that boxing needed to have "better" drug testing until he had to fight pac. now he says he will only fight if the olympic style drug testing is used. of course, he has to say that now so that it won't look like he ducked pac.

btw, it's not a "simple test" like you say, it costs $20,000. they must've drew mosely and floyd's blood like 15-18 time throughout the training camp randomly. and if pac says it makes him feel weak, it may or may not but is it a psychological issue? of course. boxers have a lot of stupid superstitions, do they have any actual affect on a fighter's ability? physically no, but mentally it could mean the difference between a good night or a bad night if they believe in it.

Are you aware that Shane Mosley was found to have performance-enhancing drugs in his body? Obviously not . . . That's one reason that Mayweather and Mosley, both took test for this fight. Boxing is a corrupt and sleazy sport. Mayweather has a right to suggest that he and Manny, both take a test, especially since many fighters are using drugs. If Manny is clean, take the test.

you're gonna have to provide a source, to my knowledge, mosley never been caught with any illegal substance. he actually ended up admitting that he had taken a banned substance during the training camp of the oscar de la hoya rematch. but he wasn't caught with it. AND he used it without knowing it was a banned substance.

floyd has no right to do anything. it's funny to me that he claims he does it for the money, that he can easily beat pac, he said it will be easier than beating marquez. if so, why walk away from $40-$50 million fight? contradiction? excuses? both?

i actually think floyd can beat pac, i think he may win a decision. i would be rooting for pac, but i think he may be too big and fast for pac. we may never know. unfortunately, i think they will never fight because neither guy will budge to the other's will. but i blame floyd more, you can argue that both guys are at fault, but i blame floyd more

I know the p4p rankings is just opinion but if the general media along with all the well known magazines and websites consider someone the p4p king, it does have an affect on contract negotiations. before the floyd/shane fight, pac was undoubtedly the p4p king. but since floyd decisively beat shane, floyd may or may not use it as leverage and justifyingly so. now there is question who is the p4p #1, there's only one way to settle it now. but this is why i'm so ticked off, because we may never find out now

Mayweather fills seats. As of recently, there have been 2 fighters who are considered pound for pound to be the best out there. They are Floyd and Manny. Both of those fighters are good for the sport, which is suffering from MMA enthusiasm. Boxing needs both of them. Mayweather uses theatrics to promote his fights. Boxing has always done that. Trash talk sells tickets. After the fight, Mayweather gave Mosley his due respect. It's all an act.

boxing isn't suffering. there have been plenty of times in the past that people have said boxing is a dying sport. its' not, it has been around for decades and will continue.

mma isn't killing boxing anytime soon. mma has not sold ppv's the way boxing still does.

Do you relaize that the fight was last night and that Mayweather actually beat Mosley, or are you referring to the Floyd versus Manny fight? I'm confused.

I didnt realize the fight already happened I thought it was going to be this Saturday, so I guess I was predicting the past.

I am one to vote on MMA killed boxing. I used to watch almost every fight on PPV and once MMA started, I stopped watching boxing. My uncles, bros and friends I know have done the same. There are more MMA fighters coming up than Boxing... All jmo.

As for May vs Pac, that is one PPV I would order.
I have to say I see May winning the fight w/the game he had on Sat night. Sugar landed a solid power punch n he recovered n took the fight from there. He is to hard to hit aside from his speed.
I would like to see Pacman win cause he has a humble spirit n don't open his mouth like Floyd does.

I do hope they get it on and no excuses to why someone lost... Age, hurt, sick etc...

IMO, the first 2 rounds were the only highlights of mosley, after that, age took over , he's probably blood drained as well, with all that testing, but then again, mayweather is really a skilled boxer. cant wait for may vs pac.

Floyd wants the test to be administered at 24 hours prior to the fight because if they were to take the test 24 days out, performance-enhancing drugs could be taken after the 24-day test up until the fight. That's obvious, plus, Floyd is in agreement to take the same test, at the same time. The playing field would be even. Freddie Roach, Manny's trainer claimed that Manny has a fear of needles. How can he allow a needle to get in the way of this fight, one of the biggest fight ever? Mayweather has fought everyone. He's all about making money and will dominate Manny. I like Manny and Floyd, but I'm calling it the way I see it.

Let me ask you this... how long have you been watching Manny? If you have watched him when he rocked Barrera then you will know the real story. Erik Morales did the same thing. He asked Manny for a blood drawn 3 days prior to the fight and Manny said it would make him weaker. He took the test and lost that fight, his last loss in 10 years..


My point is, Manny isn't making up excuses or ducking Mayweather at all. Manny has already said this so-called "excuse" before and it has happened. He already has agreed to take his blood drawn immediately right after the fight, but Floyd refuses. I don't see the difference at all.
