How many does he get through In a week what else can you feed??

3-4 adult crayfish per day. We do offer him whole mussels and the ocassional garden snail but primarily, whole crawfish. They are really the only practical food item for puffers this size.

Any pics of your guy ?? Really can't wait to get my hands on one. How long would it take a 2-3" to hit say 18" with clean water good food an adequate space??

I would just freeze the crayfish first. That will pretty much eliminate any potential parasite issue.

This, just freeze them then thaw.

my local poissonier keeps discarded lobster legs for me..I get them for free or at a nominal cost.

I've found that using restaurant supply shops cuts down the cost of live shell-fish a lot esp if you plan on a freeze/thaw approach.
