MBU stocking ideas.

So I had my MBU for quite some time now he's about 17 inches and he's been with a lot fish that have come and gone! He currently shares his tank with a 28 inch fire eel who is also the chillest dude in the world. I'm looking for tank mate suggestions as it's a little empty again
I was going to go the tetra route and add a bunch of runnynose/cardinal tetras to school as I think that would be cool but feeding tetras are a absolute pain bc of how small their mouths are. But still an option.
Thinking maybe a small group of geophagus. But they grow extremely slow.

Any opinions ide love to hear it!

I have a 6 year old Mbu
Was 3.5”, now over 24”
Tank: 84-42-30”h plus 70gal in sump
Current tank mates: 15 Congo tetras, giraffe cat, a Prochilodus breeding colony of reticulated hillstream loaches, 5 boesmani rainbowfish, trio of wild kribensis
In the past 3 years I have removed a group of 5 Geo. winemiller, 4 Uaru fernandezepezi and 2 Prochilodus
Anything that bothers the puffer goes!

I used to really enjoy keeping mine with Tanganyikan cichlids like julidochromis, cyprichromis, caudopunctatus, calvus, and synodontis lucipinnus.

Since water parameters don’t quite match, if I kept a mbu with other fish again, I’d probably switch to African butterfly fish, congo tetras, and kribensis. Or, with a group Denison and filament barbs, and some loaches.
