Along with the great advice given from both DJRansome DJRansome and james99 james99 I would suggest adding all of the selected fish at the same time.

If you add fish at different times this will cause problems especially for someone inexperienced with african cichlids.

Leave yourself enough space between the glass and the rocks for cleaning the glass.

Is the base level of rocks setting directly on the glass bottom of the tank or on the sand?

They’re on the glass bottom so that there will not be any shifts from digging. I had Tanganyikans in this tank before. I also have room to clean the glass. Thank you for the suggestions.
