Those are some nice grammodes!

If you've ever kept Tanganyikan cichlids you'll have the patience. =P I've had a pair of Neolamprologus leleupi for two years and they're now about 2.5 inches. They max out at 4 inches! When I got them they were 2 inches. Yes...a half inch in two years!

Definitely a cichlid I have on my wish list.

Hope you liked my Grammy pics. :)

Nice pull getting those grammodes!. I got one back in June after I bought my new 150. I don't think it's grown much at all. He (or she) was the biggest fish in there at first, and ruled things. Already after less than 3 months the other in there passed him up in size, and he has dropped far down in the pecking order.

The grammodes doesn't seem to feed from the surface much if at all, the other cichlids get most of the food.

Mine get a combination of 3mm NLS sinking pellets, Hikari Massivore Delight (broken in halfs and quarters) and Hikari Carnivore pellets. I throw the pellet mixture in and it all sinks to the bottom. That's where my Grammys seem to prefer to eat. :screwy:

Most of the other fish except the pikes eat at the surface.
