Ok, I finished my W/D and tested it, it flows at roughly 600gph I was wondering what pump to get?

I was thinking of getting a Quite One 4000 but I have heard bad things about them... so is there any other submersible pumps close to the QO 4000 but more reliable?

Quiet One pumps are advertised as "energy efficient" but Danner Supreme Mag Drive pumps will pump the same volume of water for roughly half of the electricity.

Thanks, I was looking at the Mag7

actually to save some money I am going to with the quiet one 4000 because it has the 1" output and I can get it for free with my BA points...

Actually you have that backwards.

Danner Supreme mag drive 9.5
Flow rate 950 GPH Max head 14 ft
Power consumption 93 Watts
Inlet/outlet 3/4"/3/4"

Quiet One 4000
Flow rate: 1017 GPH 10.2 ft max head
Power Consumption 50 Watts
Inlet/outlet size 1"/1"

I don't use either but I've heard more negatives on the Mag drives than I have on the Quiet one pumps. Even the Mag drive 7 uses more wattage 70 Watts for 317 GPH less flow than the Quiet one 4000.

QuietOnes are excellent IMO...
both the inlet and outlet are male pipe threads,
so no chance of a split coupling from accidental over tightning...
Just teflon tape the threads, and hand tighten the plumbing and you'll have no leaks...
As advertised they are quiet and cool running.
Parts are available to rebuild them if it's ever needed...

I've had 4 different quiet one pumps and I've had 4 of them fail. The 4000s are ok if you clean the impeller and magnet regularly.

That said I can't find a submersible pump that I like. Every pump I've had that I've been happy with has been external. (Little Giant or Reeflo)

What failed on your pumps? I've had one run with the center ceramic shaft broke in two for over a year. My fault though, I snapped it when I was removing the impeller for cleaning...

Yeah, regular maintainance is a must...
I don't know of one that
doesn't need a cleaning now and again...

I might add that the quietOnes have a front impeller cover that is user friendly and made to be taken on and off without small screws ...plastic threads tend to strip on the Danners...

2 of mine just locked up randomly and another had a broken impeller shaft. It still ran, but it's wrong. You cant trust a pump with any broken parts.

I've been running a little giant for over 3 years and I've never touched it.
