OK....I am blessed with another 125....6foot long....Answer this...I can easily build a DIY wet/dry out Office Depot supplies for less than $100.....OR....I can buy a Fx5 for $220.....I currently have an AC101 running on it for cycling, and I will buy another AC101 this week(for mechanical filtration)....My fish budget is $400....I do not want to be cheap on my filtration...But building a Wet/Dry for under $100, come on....I have not owned a Fluval for many years....But I was offered a Fx5 for $220.....

You can customize a wet/dry. You are very limited with a canister by comparison.

Biggest $$$ would be your pump..Wet Dry
Would probably leave the HOB as well.

I found a 30g wet/dry, rated for 300g, I am talking to the guy tomorrow....Wish me luck........

I vote wet/dry as well, but it looks as though it too little, too late.

Nice! Good luck on that. Let us know how it goes.

OK the 30g wet dry($150) guy soldout on me....

Lets see where craigslist.com takes me on this "filter odyssey"....I have until Sunday, maybe Monday, to let the Fx5 guy know what I will be doing....I can easily buy another 125-150 for $200 and spend the rest of my $400 budget on DIY stuff.....Arrrrrrrrrrr!!!:nilly:

I would definitely do a wet/dry over a canister on any tank over 100gallons.

go with the fx5, its being drop off at your place on sunday :D
