Are these safe for my fish to eat?

Fed them mealworms for a few weeks without any problems, but today my wife bought what were labeled as large mealworms, so we fed them to our fish, and they loved them.

We have two full grown oscars, 3 tinfoils, 2 sarubim lima and a couple of rescue parrots temporarily.

Then decided to look into these large mealworms, having not seen them before and turns out they are super worms.

After some research started to read horror storys of them eating their way out of whatever eats them :WHOA:

Anyone have any experiance or knowlege of these worms, and also mealworms, are they safe for my fish and these storys are old wives tales, or should I be genuinely worried?

Thanks in advance, scared I have killed my fish

I freeze mine first then feed them. A day in the freezer and they don't come back after defrosting

Smash their heads. I feed them too abot once a week. I just grab them and squeeze the head a bit. Simply as that.

Super worms eating their way out of what eats them??
My fish, Arowanas, Oscars, Silver Dollars, even a small African Chiclid would blow them up upon eating them...Really fatty curds of SW would float about the tank when they ate them...

Never had a problem...
Matter of fact I got a thousand of them coming in today...

OK so its basicaly an old wives tale then?

this is like an Urban legend. i remember reading on this site before that one came out of a fishes gill flap and the obviously uneducated aquarist told everyone they burrow out of fish

why do you guys say to take the heads off?
