mean little ocellaris clownfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Finding Nemo was a lie. Clowns are mean as hell. Every one I have ever had has acted the same way. My female has either killed or chased out of the tank every mate I have ever gotten her so be careful adding a mate.

don't feel bad mine in my 10g nano is crazy as hell also. bites me whenever i do maintenance. doesn't bother my blue spot watchman but can't stand the firefish i just got

I know, they attacked me when I was trying to feed my anemone and they once tried to bite my hand above the water. Crazy little bastards.

Well the clown is mellowed out. He only seems to be that way when he knows he's about to get fed which naturally is when I am watching my fish the most. I didn't add another fish but I did add a Kenyan Tree Coral, a green star polyp, and some kind of green mushroom coral. They've all been in the tank for a couple of weeks. The tree coral is spreading like crazy. I've already got a few frags growing for a friend...I guess I'll have to trash the rest since my lfs doesn't want them.

Aaaand ya...he still thinks my hand is a punching bag. Oh well, thats just clowns..never knew that.

lol, glad to hear everything's cooled down a little. You should try to sell your frags here or on other places online. Its worth a try, you know? Better than killin em... I'd take a frag or two off your hands. I can't be the only one...

on another note..we had a power outage for about an hour, which set my light timers off. They are set to go off at bedtime for my kido's. I noticed that almost all of my fish were at their nightly just after eight despite the lights still being on. Makes you wonder...maybe they can see the clock on the wall ;]

lol, I have wondered that too but there's no clock in my room! I usually leave a lamp on in my room cuz I get back home after the lights go out and don't want to freak them out by turning the room light on when its dark. (Done that a couple times - not good!) And when I get home, everybody's in sleep mode. My clowns are in their little cave, my cardinal is usually darting around and really active and I have no clue where my angel hides. My shrimp is usually out too. But its like they know its bed time. They used to do that before I got the aquarium lights, too. Funny little guys, aren't they?
