:eek: I just got back from a friends place. He just purchased the most brutal nasty fishY i ever did C. He got a Trahira ( Hoplias Lacerdae. Its 13" now but can get upto 30" I tink dey are from somewhere in brazil. Cost my buddy $900 Canadian!!! AnYwaYs 6x2" feeder goldfish went into the tank and dat fish took out 3 of em wid 1 swipe and in the next motion went off and got the others. It swallowed so fast i didn't C it swallow!!! I'll git some pictures for u MFK'ers as soon as someone tells me how to post pictures!!!

You have any pictures of it.I have many types of Hoplias macrophthalmus and I have a Hoplias Lacerdae too.I would imagine what you have is a Malabarcus .Does it have a lateral line stripe?

I would listen to Lil neet, he is very informed about the species of wolf fish. I have to ask as well ,does it have a lateral stripe? I would also like to see a pic of that fish. :thumbsup:
 
wow I used to have a wolfy- about 10 inches- was not 900 bucks though!
more like 20=but that was in 1987
and was he an eater!

They still sell for only $30 to $60 in Canada. I don't know why anybody would pay $900.

Perhaps its a different fish?
 
Where did he get it? Trahira are pretty cheap in Canada. Even Below Water's big 16" was only 200 bucks.

Hey, if you got a buddy who spent $900.00 on a wolf fish, tell them I got some some I'll cut a deal on like $500.00 or so....

THis is B.S. ......again......

How's that Redtail that swallowed the algae magnet, we all need an update on that story.....
