I know this question has been asked numerous times on here, but I figured it might be interesting to see what people think nowadays. I have owned plenty of cichlids over the years, some of which were mild-mannered, others hell. The most aggressive and horrible tempered I've ever owned are my now deceased Black Nasty and Beani. However, this is current so as of this posting my worst behaved is my Loiselle/Freddie cross. Ever since about 1.5 or so inches he has been awful killing various other cichlids much larger than himself. Until recently, I couldn't find a tank he could get along with anyone else in until I moved him in with my female f1 red devil. Now, he's a perfect gentleman minding his own business. ?

Yes, hybrids tend to be extra aggressive!
I only own one cichlid at the moment (I'm washed up, I know), my jumbo male panamensis. He definitely likes to chase and nip at the Roseline barbs he lives with, and he murdered his (ex) girlfriend a couple years back, so I think he's pretty mean!

As my name says I love dwarfs. But I currently don't even keep those right now! My ONLY current cichlids are my angels. But very well behaved. Lucky me. :)

You are lucky, every time I've had angels, they all needed to be separated. Especially when I had silvers, they never seemed to get along.

I Have been lucky - I've never had angel problems. Although I'v never really keept more than two in one tank at the same time. Two seems like a good number to work for me so I keep it is that :) Although I have a friend who has a 90 and 120 angel community each holding 7 & 8 angels respectively. It works for her.

Interesting. I've never had those. And my friend doesn't have them either. I have marbles and golds.

Something that is pretty cool though is how nice my female RD normally is with my "fredselle" I guess you could call him. She hasn't even chased him around despite being nearly twice his size. All she wants to do is move rocks and decorations around and watch me all the time. She always wants my attention which is why her name is Diva. She is also the first devil I've owned that enjoys being petted.
