Actually, if we are going to get technical- I think Anableps gets much larger, and is a livebearer.

Meat eating livebearers? My swords and mollies pick at dead fish, eat small fish and eat high protien foods. Does that mak them meat eaters?

Mystix - dead on, however Belonesox eats only fish, as far as mine were concerned. Would love some again, now that we're talking about them!

they remind me of barracudas
they have the same feeding habbits of them
do they breed like live bearers??
has anyone been able to breed them here??

They are bred in aquaria yes - but many fry don't survive due to cannibalism.

I would expect you to take care of them LOL - Do you have some now?

I think they are best kept in pairs - but be careful the female isn't too much larger than the male, or he will get eaten. This is common. The fry themselves are big on cannibalism, so just feed them a lot.

I have wanted to get my hands on some of these for a while now. Their natural died is other poecillids so they are the perfect fish to raise feeder guppies for . Have yet to see any in stores or find them for sale online.
