I have had a little lamp on in the room only and just letting him recover.It was not my female and he had breed with 5 females in 6 weeks.I use a divider when her tube drops I open the divider for breeding with hole so if she needs to go back to her side she can..It was my buddies setup which protects the female.Where it is the upside down strawberry pot to hide in.Which is good in all CA breeding but these flowerhorns are just F#@%$ mean.I have never had this problem but I always brought the Lady to the dance.Here we are kinda new to breeding flowerhorns and just did not realize how territorial these fish are and brought a young male to a older batches house. I just hope he makes it.I still want him to breed with her but only when this girl is ready.
i still see a little bit of his lip there and on the sides. some musle and skin might grow back and wont look like he has no lip, but he wont grow his lip back.

I added Epsom salt at a rate of 1 cup per 20gls and he **** out a 6" long turd that it would take a jackhammer to cut up just to get it down the average toilet.I bet he feels better and darn sure acts like it.I got to pet him a bunch when I feed after work.Me and him both enjoyed that.
sorry to hear, hopefully it grows back.Ive never had anything that bad but ive had few lip rip n tears an healed successfully with a lil scaring.Keep us updated w/some pics
