i have 3300grams of fluval bio max right now but im thinking more scrubbies for a custom sump when i get to it in the new year... kinda was curious oh much they can hold compared to bio balls as there MUCH cheaper and apprently hold alot more BB

I doubt ceramic rings hold more bio then a pot scrubbie.... You can fit a lot more rings in a much smaller area as well. Try api chem stars, fluval cnodes are good too.

Well that's ok I'd much rather have a decent amount BB surface for SUPER cheap since I'm planning on havn a 110gallon sump :) that gonna be a lot of bio filter to fill a big 110g stock tank :D

I use scrubbies in the coarse filtering areas of my filters (canister and sump) since they're harder to clog up in the mechanical filtration areas. And I use alfa grog and sintered glass tubes in the final or water stripped areas of the filters for bio-filtration.

Well I'm thinking just a reg 3 chamber sump system possibly wet/dry unit with bio balls... OR 110gallon stock tank sump sytsem like monsterpeacock use's on his 340g or so tank he built not long ago

I use alfa grog and sintered cup pipes in the ultimate or water removed places of the filtration for bio-filtration.
